I'm thrilled to be a part of the Kenzie's Party Dress Blog Tour!  This is my first time ever being a part of a blog tour, so hopefully I don't screw up.   Check out the other bloggers on the tour too!

Kymy at Everything Your Mama Made & More created this adorable pattern inspired by her daughter's 1st birthday.  The colorful rainbow version she made is absolutely perfect.

One of the things I really liked about this pattern (or any pattern for that matter) is that there are several different options to choose from.  You may have noticed based on my other posts that I'm not into ruffles and frill too much, so I chose to do the simple skirt version of the pattern.

Here's what I came up:

The fabric I used is an old bed sheet.  I may be slightly obsessed with up-cycling old bed sheets into garments these days.

This dress is a 3T with 4T length based on PiePie's measurements and the fit is perfect.

Perhaps my favorite feature of this pattern is the scoop in the back of the dress.

Coming in as a close second favorite are the super cute sleeves!

The pattern really does have an heirloom quality to it, so I took some extra time to ensure that this dress could indeed be an heirloom.

I carefully top stitched along the neckline and sleeves.

I also used reinforced french seams on the skirt.  I don't even know if that is a real thing, but I like how it turned out.

A big time-saver for me was using the original top of the sheet as the hem for the dress.  I'm loving larger hems lately.

One modification that I made was to fully line the dress.  The sheet was a bit thin and see-through so the lining was a must.  Plus, it adds a little bit of poof!
